Our little campus will house up to 45 children from ages 3-10 years old. There is a 4,500 square foot home with a girl’s wing and one for the boys . The center of the home is 1,200 square feet and is the all purpose area for studying, dining and for playing. The outdoor kitchen is where the staff prepares all the meals.
Each of the bedrooms have two bunk beds and sleep four children. Mosquito nets drape the beds at night for their protection.
The children are fed a healthy diet of eggs, corn, beans, meat, milk, bread, potatoes, greens and more. The food is a big part of our monthly budget, as are salaries.
The Grand Opening was December 14th, 2024 and it was an exciting occasion, after six years of construction and fundraising. Thank you to all of you who made this possible. Many local members of the community were on site to celebrate the children’s move into their new home!
Founder, Rollin Caristianos from Hot Springs, Arkansas and Pastor, Collins Okode from Migori, Kenya , Director of The Promised Land Orphanage are having an emotional moment as the dedication plaque was being unveiled.
Our young students are pilling in the van to head for school. They are wearing their new uniforms, backpacks and shoes that were donated by you, their supporters!
This beautiful local handmade gate was purchased by a local Kenyan man who has helped to raise pledges from other locals. We appreciate him and all the others that have donated in the Migori area. They are so proud of this orphanage now located in their own community.
Another local man was kind enough to donate two acres of his farmland to us for farming beans and corn . This is a huge help in providing food for the kids. This picture is of the cornfield just prior to harvesting . The corn is processed for Ugali, a corn maize that is boiled and served like mashed potatoes.
Please help us keep these children happy and healthy as there are many mouths to feed and salaries to be paid. You are The Blessing!
